About the Board
The Galion Public Library is governed by an independent, self-perpetuating board of trustees, although of course there are close ties between the library and the Galion community.
Open positions in the board of trustees are filled from the members at large of the Galion Public Library Association. Membership in the association is open to the public, and anyone interested in becoming a member of the association should speak with the Director. The association meets annually. As of 2012, there are 43 members in the association.
The board of trustees meets monthly, together with the library Director and the Financial Officer.
The board is very supportive of the library's efforts to create a positive, interesting, and educational environment and provide meaningful services for the community. From time to time, you may see board members in the library — don't be alarmed: they don't bite — observing our day-to-day operation, and looking into the needs and desires of our patrons and staff.
