Christmas Open House

• OH70 will be playing live holiday jazz music on the library's main floor from 1:30-3pm.
• Everyone who attends our open house will receive free door-prize tickets, which can be entered into a drawing to win either a Kindle Fire HD or a LeapFrog LeapPad 3 Kids' Learning Tablet. Make sure to grab a ticket at either door when you first enter the library.
• Hundreds of cookies (baked fresh by three different local bakers, including Bill's Bakery) and punch will be provided by the Friends.
• The gingerbread house contest entries will be on display for public viewing. (Judges will award first and second place prizes for each category, and a grand prize for Best in Show will be determined by popular vote.)
• There will be carriage and wagon rides by Pine Acres Carriage Service, co-sponsored by Galion Building and Loan, Galion Historical Society, Come Home to Galion, and an anonymous donor. Since last year's route was such a big hit there will be the same route for this established favorite: a loop between the library and Brownella Cottage (where the Galion Historical Society will also be holding an Open House starting at 1pm).
• Two special story times in the Children's Room are planned for 1:20pm and 2:10pm.
• Crafts, with a chilling theme, will be available for children of all ages and their parents in the Community Room. Crafts will involve reindeer, snowflakes, and snowmen.
• You may also see Bad Kitty (from the books by Nick Bruel) wandering around either floor throughout the event.
• The library staff have made a wish list of materials and supplies for the library to use to serve the community. These requests will be placed on the tree in the lobby for patrons to view; those who take and fill a request will be considered Angels by the staff
• The North End Garden Club will have the large east window and other areas of the library's main floor decorated with a gingerbread theme in conjunction with our gingerbread house contest, and the Creative Crafters will have hand-made work on display for the public to admire and purchase.
