Y.A. is now residing at the Y.A. librarian's house - in a cage, of course! We're not sure if the Y stands for "Yvette" or "Yancey", but mouse experts are being called in to make that determination! Rumor has it that Y.A. was "liberated" in the library as a prank. Whatever the reason, the mouse has found a good home and is bringing a lot of joy to a young animal lover who had just lost a beloved pet the very day that YA showed up!

YA update - after much scrutiny and deliberation, it was determined that YA is a "She" and has the new name of "April".She is doing well,and has been busy making a home in her new cage. She loves apples and does not mind going for a walk in her exercise ball! Don't you just love a "Happy Ending"? I think she is just as sweet as Despereaux. Maybe we should start reading stories to her!!
